This is one of those pieces that practically makes itself. As soon as I put the face and the background together I knew what feeling this piece would have.
I usually have painting days where I make a bunch of painted backgrounds and then when I'm working on a piece I look through my stack of backgrounds and choose one to work with. This background started out as a serendipity collage that was then painted.
